For the last five years Oasis gets together to see just who among us is the top Holy Roller! We all meet at the bowling alley. Maria had the Holy Shoe. Would she be the Holy Roller?

The Holy Shoe
We have age groups so everyone bowls with their friends. We have The God Squad, that’s the children’s team ages 3-11. The younger kids get the bumpers so their scores are normally higher than the adults!

Then there’s the Back Pew Crew (can you figure out how they got their name?) which is the youth group. They tend to act too cool for bowling!

The Next Group is the 18-26 year olds. They have Faith to Spare.

Then there’s the Kisses (X’s) No Hugs (0′s) group which is the 26-39 group.

Then there’s my group the Aches and Pains. It’s everyone over 40. They got their name because the next day they are complaing about how things hurt.

Aches and Pains
We had a great time and everyone wants to know who the Holy Roller is. Especially this guy who tries every year to get the highest score.

The competitive guy
But alas, five years and he has yet to reach his goal. Will he at least get a trophy? He brags that at his house they have a case that they keep their Holy Roller trophies in. He has two kids that bowl and his wife bowls so between the four of them one is bound to get something! Steve is our lead guitarist, youth band leader and youngest church elder!
Some of the couples bring the future Holy Rollers of America.

Form as you can see is important

Serious Discussions abound

This is Michael. He is the closet bowler. He pretends like he’s too cool for this but he ends up getting a trophy all the time.

Fun was had by all

Next week I’ll post the results and the trophies!
